The best soil turning tool ever ! My original rating was low based on the fact that the instructions were not quite up to par and my package was missing a screw. The company send me the missing little item and I had a chance to try it out. I am fairly short and small but was able to turn over very hard compacted soil within 1 hour. No wonder my plants didn’t grow well. the soil under the top 4″ of soil was hard as a rock.

This is a well built tool. This fork is light but strong. The parts fit well and went together quickly, in about 10 minutes. The soil I have is mostly clay that hasn’t been disturbed since it was deposited….about 100 million years ago. Having said that, I was able to stand on the fork, rock side-to-side and sink the tines fully into the soil. As I pulled back on the fork, the soil came up in 8″ to 10″ deep blocks. I used the fork to breakup the blocks of soil and will run a tiller through as I add a bunch…

A solid performer! I first saw a broadfork in action 20 years or more ago when Eliot Coleman was championing them.
